Planning Permission & Applications – Oxfordshire & The Cotswolds
Planning permission is required for many types of residential development, including extensions, alterations and new dwellings. Within Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, planning decisions are often influenced by a combination of national planning policy and detailed local planning guidance.
At Insight Planning & Design, we assist homeowners in preparing planning applications that respond carefully to both the National Planning Policy Framework and the policies adopted by local planning authorities across the region. By understanding how these policies are applied in practice, we are able to guide projects through the planning process in a clear and considered way.
We have worked on planning applications throughout Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds for many years and regularly engage with local planning departments as part of the application process. Planning applications for house extensions
We regularly prepare planning applications for house extensions across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. This includes single storey extensions, two storey additions, side extensions and alterations to existing homes.
Each project is carefully designed so that it works well for the client while also responding appropriately to planning policy and the surrounding built environment.
Planning drawings
Planning applications require clear and accurate drawings showing the existing property and the proposed development. We prepare the necessary plans, elevations and supporting drawings required for submission to the local planning authority.
These drawings form the foundation of the application and help ensure the proposal is clearly understood by planning officers.
Planning advice and design guidance
Early design advice can be invaluable when considering a development project. By reviewing planning policies and the context of the site at an early stage, it is often possible to shape a proposal in a way that improves its chances of success.
We assist clients in understanding what may be achievable on their property and how planning considerations may influence the design.
Planning submissions
Once the design has been finalised, we prepare and submit the full planning application on your behalf. This includes coordinating drawings, supporting documents and managing the submission through the Planning Portal.
Where required, we can also prepare supporting documents such as Design and Access Statements to help explain the proposal clearly to the planning authority.
Planning statements
For certain types of development, particularly where proposals are more sensitive or located within conservation areas, planning authorities often benefit from a clear written explanation of the proposal.
A Planning Statement helps explain how the proposed development responds to planning policy at both national and local level. It provides context for the application and demonstrates how the design has been considered in relation to the surrounding area.
Where appropriate, we prepare Planning Statements to accompany applications, helping to clearly present the reasoning behind the proposal and support the overall planning submission.
